My Summer Holiday

DreamHack
At the beginning of my summer holiday I went to DreamHack.
DreamHack is the world's largest digital festival located in Jönköping two times a year, summer/winter. You bring your computer and install it at your seat and connect it to the network. Then you stay there for 4 days playing computer or any other console, watching artists who perform on stage and looking at tournaments in different games. They also got places where you can: try companies products like mice and computers, buy food, computer parts and so on.

At DreamHack there are 3 big halls with tables were you can place your computer. We sat in the main hall with the big scene. They had a lot of activities and competitions on the stage, like talentshows and “who can drink a big bottle of coke fastest” and stuff like that. The talent show was really funny to watch, there were beatboxers, rappers, shufflers and many other performers. The winner was a really funny guy dancing to “All the single ladies”. There are some videos up on Youtube. It would be awesome to compete, but first I need a talent.

There was about 15-20 thousand visitors. So a lot of friends that i've met online were there and also one of my friends from Skåne. Some people go there without computers just to watch the tournaments. During 2009 they had 200'000 unique visitors on their live-streams from all around the world. I had a really great time there and I'm going there again this winter. This time we are bringing some more friends with us there because “the more the merrier”

Jassa
At the end of the school year our dog died in bone cancer, so this summer my father bought a puppy and we named it Jassa. Jassa is a Dutch Shepherddog, in Sweden its called Holländsk Herdehund. Originally it's used as a herding dog but now they are often used by the police and the military. Since my father is neither a policeman or living on a farm I guess he will use it as a service dog for his diabetes like he did with our old dog.

Well, to get to the point... My father went to Vietnam so I was living in his apartment for some weeks and took care of the dog. I've always wanted my own dog but after I took care of our puppy I wasn't that sure anymore. I mean it was a nightmare! Since Jassa was just a little puppy she was just running around barking and peeing all the time... So I was kind of tired of dogs after those weeks.



Österbymo
One week I went to a place called Österbymo with my father and sister. There they got like tiny cottages without any power or heat. The cottages are empty except for some beds, a fireplace and a small table. So you have to lit a fire in the fireplace to keep the cottage warm at night. It is kind of cozy to fall asleep to the sound of the fire. There is a bigger cottage where you can buy food and so. They often got artist who perform there in the summer but there was no performance this time.


The rest of the summer I didn't do anything special, spending time with my friends and taking some swims in the sea.
